The Athenaeum underwent major refurbishment in the late 1990s and now provides a large hall with stage

Bardsea Malt Kiln has a date stone of 1829, but it could be earlier. As the name suggests it used to be a Malt Kiln where they roasted the malt for making beer. When commercial activity ceased it eventually became the Village Hall, and is owned by the villagers.

The Malt Kiln is owned and managed by a management committee made up of volunteers from the village. In May 2003 the hall was closed for extensive refurbishment, funded by a grant from the National Lottery. It was re-opened in April 2004

The community hall at Grizebeck is in an easily accessible location set in beautiful countryside with plenty of good off-road parking. This pleasing landscaped site offers stunning views of the Cumbrian Fells.

Built in summer 2011, the modern spacious and airy hall offers a pleasant and welcoming entrance with easy access to the toilets, a shower and baby changing facilities. There is underfloor heating in the main room which is 120 square metres in size therefore easily accommodating 100 people.

The Hindpool Community Centre offers a function room with wireless connection. Also a large hall which is available weekdays 8:30 - 17:00 plus Thursday and Saturday evenings.
